The basic black-and-gold design of the Casio Men's Analog Watch makes it a simple, versatile timepiece great for everyday wear. The watch is constructed with a resin case, a black stationary resin bezel, and a comfortable black rubber bracelet with an adjustable buckle clasp. A durable mineral window protects the black dial face, which cleanly features gold-tone hour indexes, gold-tone minute markers, and complementary watch hands.
The Casio Story
With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.
In developing its own wristwatches Casio began with the basic question, ""What is a wristwatch?"" Rather than simply making a digital version of the conventional mechanical watch, we thought that the ideal wristwatch should be something that shows all facets of time in a consistent way. Based on this, Casio was able to create a watch that displayed the precise time including the second, minute, hour, day, and month — not to mention a.m. or p.m., and the day of the week. It was the first watch in the world with a digital automatic calendar function that eliminated the need to reset the calendar due the variation in month length. Rather than using a conventional watch face and hands, a digital liquid crystal display was adopted to better show all the information. This culminated in the 1974 launch of the CASIOTRON, the world’s first digital watch with automatic calendar. The CASIOTRON won acclaim as a groundbreaking product that represented a complete departure from the conventional wristwatch.
Casio transformed the concept of the watch — from a mere timepiece to an information device for the wrist — and undertook product planning based on this innovative idea. We developed not only time functions such as global time zone watches, but also other radical new functions using Casio’s own digital technology, including calculator and dictionary functions, as well as a phonebook feature based on memory technology, and even a thermometer function using a built-in sensor. The memory-function watches became our DATA BANK product series, while the sensor watches developed into two unique Casio product lines of today: the Pathfinder series displaying altitude, atmospheric pressure, and compass readings.
In 1983, Casio launched the shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch. This product shattered the notion that a watch is a fragile piece of jewelry that needs to be handled with care, and was the result of Casio engineers taking on the challenge of creating the world’s toughest watch. Using a triple-protection design for the parts, module, and case, the G-SHOCK offered a radical new type of watch that was unaffected by strong impacts or shaking. Its practicality was immediately recognized, and its unique look, which embodied its functionality, became wildly popular, resulting in explosive sales in the early 1990s. The G-SHOCK soon adopted various new sensors, solar-powered radio-controlled technology (described below), and new materials for even better durability. By always employing the latest technology, and continuing to transcend conventional thinking about the watch, the G-SHOCK brand has become Casio’s flagship timepiece product.
Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, and the radio-controlled function means users never have to reset the time. In particular, the radio-controlled function represents a revolution in time-keeping technology similar to the impact created when mechanical watches gave way to quartz technology. Through the further development of high radio-wave sensitivity, miniaturization, and improved energy efficiency, Casio continues to produce a whole range of radio-controlled models.

5A GREAT CHEAP WATHCH !!!
By Richard Thompson
I whole heartedly agree with the other reviewer. This watch is great for many reasons. The price is right. Less than $10. Come on, anyone can afford it. It doesn't weigh a thing! I personally don't like heavy watches. This is the opposite of a 10 oz Rolex or other expensive watch. It actually looks nice. Kind of a "classic" design. Gold hands and accents on black. A sweep second hand and a simple adjustable wrist band. A very simple, no-frills watch. It is my casual weekend watch that I wear when I don't need to know what day it is.

It is all plastic. The bezel can be easily scratched. But, it's easy enough to just buy another one and replace it if that happens. I'm on my second one in 10 years and I also have a spare in reserve. Once you've bought more than one battery for this watch, you have already reached the purchase price.

I hope Casio never stops making this basic model. In fact, they should expand the line to include other colors, designs, etc.

5GOLD!!!
By J. Cherry
How can you hold back?! You can have a stylish black faced analog (YES- ANALOG!) watch with gold details for less than $10!!! I love this watch, but then again, I love not spending a lot of money on a timepiece. Best of all, you can watch the confusion on your child's face when they ask you the time and you show them the clock. "Oh, it's not digital?" Yeah, baby... this is old skool! I would only recommend against this watch if you are uncertain about the hash marks. If that's the case, look at the next casio in the price list and for (I think) $0.50 more, you can have number on your watch face... Love it!

5Great watch!
By Stanley Davis
I'm on about my fourth or fifth version of this watch, and will keep on buying them as long as I can. They're very inexpensive yet very accurate, losing about a second every two days versus my atomic clock. It's also attractive enough for dress-up events. I have very small wrists and can't wear many expansion band watches, so this one works very well for me.

5Best thing since sliced bread
By Douglas M. Anderson
Are there "better" sharpeners on the market? Probubly. But as an all around sharpener (I have several styles by several different manufacturers) this little gem is hands down THE BEST! Otherwise I would not have spent a week tracking this one down on the internet after all my local suppliers were "out of stock" or had moved on to more expensive less useful models. The thing folds up and goes in my pocket, it also has a handy hole for a lanyard which my new one is on. It does a great job on my chefs knives, my hunting knife and my serrated kives as well. It's easy for my big fingers to hold on to and steady on the edge of the counter when I am sharpening. I bought an extra one to put away in case this one gets "lost" or I give mine away to a friend. (In case you can't tell I really like it and would buy another one in a minute flat!)

5Great little sharpener
By C. Zacharias
I have been sharpening my own knives for years using the Gatco system. Normally I wouldn't trust my knives to anything but me and my Gatco. However, I do tend to spend a lot of time out in the woods and having a portable knife sharpener is an important part of my gear.

I was initially very hesitant to try this style of sharpener since the sharpening angle is fixed and not determined by me. Having now used the Smith's sharpener on several of my hunting and camping knives, I am recommending it to all my friends and have even purchased one for my hunting partner.

Great product, and I would buy it even at twice the price.

5Great sharpener even better than Smith's Abrasives 2 Step Knife Sharpener
By A. Cruz
This is a great sharpener it makes knives super sharp but not quite razor sharp it is much better than Smith's Abrasives 2 Step Knife Sharpener, that sharpener gets knives just as sharp as it has the same angles to the ceramic part of the sharpener; but that uses rods which get loose and end up rolling as you draw your knife through it and don't sharpen your knife. Also this is easier to get a blade into the ceramic sharpening part. This also includes a serrated knife sharpener, and this works well but i can't say much for it as it is the first serrated knife sharpener i have ever used.

i recommend pulling the blade through the carbide part 10 times using semi heavy to medium force, the using the ceramic part about 10 times using medium force then lighting up to about as light as you can get by the 10th stroke
skip the carbide part if your knife is already adequately sharp, only use the carbide part if your knife i dull or damaged as it takes off a lot of steel

Father’s Day Special gift idea

Cool Father’s Day gift idea

Now that Mother’s Day is over, it’s time to start thinking about Father’s Day. I often find myself banging my head against the wall when it comes to shopping for my husband. I can’t get him golf stuff because he’s very particular about what he wants/needs. I can’t get him clothes because he already has too many. I can’t get him tickets to a Red Sox game because Fenway is 5 hours away. Beer of the month club is out of the question; he’s only likes Heineken Light.
Lucky for me, I came across this cool site called datevitation.com that lets you create a custom coupon book for your loved one. And today I’m giving one away for free.
Here’s the dealio… this platform lets you choose from, then customize, five or more coupons from a bank of 350 “date ideas.” You create it online and they print it and ship it to you.
And so I did. And they did!

What you’ll get is a one-of-a-kind book with the cover of your choice, a personal message page and five or more coupon pages customized to your liking. So a book of five coupons will only cost you a ten spot. Plus, one lucky winner will get a five-pager for free.
Cool, huh?
Here are the “date” ideas the boys and I came up with for my husband:
  • A round of golf with the boys: He’s always trying to get them out on the course with him. And up until now, they’ve always turned him down. Now all he has to do is turn in the coupon and they are required to hit the links with dad.
  • A poop-free yard: How great? At any given time, he can toss this little piece of paper at the boys and out they go, popper scooper in hand.
  • A bear hug from each kid, any time, any place. They aren’t as free flowing with the hugs when it comes to dad as they are with me. (I think it has something to do with his stubble). So now, no excuses.
  • Homemade chocolate chip cookies: My husband is always hounding me to make him his favorite chocolate chip cookies (his mom’s recipe, of course). I usually find some excuse for why I can’t make them, like “I’m out of vanilla extract” or “it’s too humid to bake” or “the oven is acting up.” Now, I’ll have no choice but to oblige.
  • An entire baseball game on TV that we will watch together as a family: Both of my boys play baseball. Yet neither of my boys will sit with my husband to watch a game on TV—and it drives him crazy. He just wants to be able to sit and watch a game with his sons. It’s been his dream since we found out our first born was to be a boy. So, now here we go. Pop some corm, throw on the Sox and settle in for some Green Monster action.
It was fun to make and the finished product is really nice.
Now for the freebee… click the link below before May 23rd to enter.
